Video games have been under fire for their often violent natures for a long time. It appears that this is the subject of the federal appeals court in California. A law that would ban the sales of mature and adult rated games to minors is under debate. Most retailers already follow this suggestion from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) even though it isn't required. Laws like this have been defeated time and again in our courts across the country but haven't had much success. Most gamers agree that whether or not there is a law for such content it won't affect the the gaming industry much.
So... parents pay attention to what your kids are playing instead of relying on someone else to do it for you.

All these efforts to ban violent games are absolutly ridiculous. Playing a violent video game once does not make anyone into a serial killer. It's up to the individual to draw the line between reality and the game and the government does not need to step in.
It would be hilarious if this was the big issue in a presidential election.
I agree. It would be funny if McCain or Obama wanted to ban violent games. Maybe we should start with violence in the schools and homes or even in other country before we tackle games and movies.
